My name is Kathy Shanks. I live in your stake in the 3rd Ward. I have had the privilege of helping out with the flyer for the 5K Run/Breakfast for Karsen. I have had you in my thoughts and prayers since I heard about the accident. As far as I'm concerned the photo with Karsen next to Spiderman shows TWO super heroes. And only one of them is real. What a trooper! And you - as parents - man. My hat is off to you. You are carrying a heavy load, and I commend you for your strength and faith. You are in THE BEST HANDS at Shriner's. How blessed we are to have them right here in Salt Lake! My son, Rylan, was born with clubbed feet and has had several surgeries there. Dr. Steven Santora is one of our heroes and he always will be. He is the reason my son can walk. Rylan is now 13. Shriner's is the best, and Karsen is in good hands. Thank you for your examples and strength.
